Automobiles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were alerted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations show the substance was likely human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism left him without words and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
